How To Prepare For Your Portrait Session

 Your outfit can make or break the vibe of your portrait!

• Pick outfits that reflect your personality.
• Stick to solid colors or minimal patterns to keep the focus on you, not your clothes.
• Avoid logos or super trendy pieces...they might not age well in your photos. 

COORDINATE, DON'T MATCH

Group portraits?  Avoid going for matching outfits.  Instead, coordinate colors that complement each other.  Think different shades, textures, or accessories that tie the group together.....while still letting each person's style shine.

ACCESSORIES AND EXTRAS

A few well-chosen accessories can elevate your look.  Hats, scarves, or statement jewelry can add personality....just don't overdo it.  If you're unsure, bring options,  and we'll help you decide what works best!

GROOMING

• Hair:  Stick with a style you're comfortable with...today isn't the day to try a new hair style!
• Skin:  Moisturize well, and if you wear makeup, aim for a look that enhances your features without feeling too heavy. 
• Hands:  Don't forget to give those nails a quick grooming and/or new polish.  You'll be surprised how much your hands are featured in portraits!

MINDSET IS KEY

Your confidence will show on camera, so bring good vibes!! 

• Get enough sleep the night before.
• Take a few deep breaths before stepping in front of the camera...it's normal to feel a little nervous.
• Trust your photographer!!! Relax, and enjoy the experience. 

DON'T STRESS THE DETAILS

Your photographer will guide you through posing and angles, so don't feel like you have to "know how to pose."  Just focus on being present,  and the magic will happen.
